And so it came to pass, some time after Harry Potter shared his umbrella and his heart with Draco Malfoy in Diagon Alley, that the two found themselves sharing a flat in Muggle London.
Draco, as expected, had a rough time adjusting to all the oddities of the Muggle world. The flat itself was filled with all manner of strange, sometimes frightening, things. Harry wisely did not allow him in the kitchen unattended for a long while.
Television was one of the "safe" things for Draco to do while Harry was gone. He became a consummate channel surfer in short order, but soon grew bored with the dreadful programming selection Harry had. As Draco had no use for watching anything twice, Harry's DVD collection was digested all too quickly.
"You've watched them all?" Harry was incredulous.
"Yes, all of them. Even the vile ones."
Harry sighed. "I guess we'll just have to make a trip to Blockbuster after dinner."
"Ballbuster?"
Harry laughed. "Blockbuster!" He shook his head. "Video rentals, remember?"
"Right." Draco nodded once. He did indeed know. He just liked to hear Harry laugh. "Dinner out, then?"
"You're lucky I'm not in the mood to cook. Yes, dinner out." He pulled Draco in for a lingering kiss, then pushed him away. "Go. Get dressed."
Six hours later, Harry was leaning against the rack of foreign language films while Draco combed through the new releases... again.
"You didn't even look at 'Mona Lisa Smile'. That looks good." Harry pointed at the display as Draco went past.
"As if I'm going to trust your taste in film, Potter. You own that dreadful 'January Man'. You paid to own that. So you could watch it again and again. I got a headache trying to watch it just once."
"Hey, it's not that bad." Harry protested weakly.
"It was awful!" Draco turned to look at Harry, the exhaustion evident on his lover's face. "Okay, that Alan Rickman bloke wasn't too bad to look at, but otherwise..."
"Draco, please just pick something so we can go," Harry said.
"This will do," Draco said, taking a box off the shelf.
"Once Upon a Time in Mexico? Wasn't that the first one you picked up... four hours ago?"
"So?"
Harry sighed and led them to the checkout counter.
